Chapter 3
Snow, Rain and Friendship
The days at the School of Flying Clouds flew by as fast as the wind.
Every morning, Rana flew to school on her little cloud, whom she had named Fluffy, and came home before her family woke up. She still closed her eyes while she was flying... but for a few seconds less each day.
In the snow lesson, she learnt to hold a small cold cloud, squeeze it very gently between her palms and sing it the winter song, until tiny snowflakes fell from it — every one a different shape, like crystal stars.
"No two snowflakes are ever the same," said Madam Naseem. "Just like you."
When Faris squeezed his cloud too hard, it exploded in his face and covered his spiky hair with snow until he looked like a snowman. Rana laughed so much that she fell over backwards onto the soft cloud.
